Installers carry their meter with them on a daily basis. Meters should always be kept in a safe place, however when in a hurry we can easily toss a tool back in the tool box hitting and cracking the screen. Being on a ladder or roof top is hazardous and makes it easy to drop tools or your meter. Although the LCD screen is tough it can still be broken by direct impact.
